The chapel at Green Acres Funeral Home has warm oak fixtures and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook beautiful gardens. It seats up to 200 guests and has modern sound and video equipment, making personalized music and video presentations easy. The Heritage Room Reception Centre is a comfortable space for friends and family to gather before or after a service and offers full catering options.

Our goal with every service is to create a lasting memory of a unique life. Our commitment is to bring your vision or your loved one’s final wishes to reality. We offer everything from a traditional funeral service in our chapel, at a church, graveside or elsewhere, to a no-holds-barred celebration of life, complete with live music, catering and a heart-warming send-off that reflects the personality and passions of yourself or your loved one. We’re experts at telling life stories.

When we meet, we’ll ask you to share details about yourself or your loved one so we can learn everything we can about passions, interests and personality. Whether it’s a treasured song, a lifelong hobby or a favourite colour, we take the things that a person holds dear and string them together to create a one-of-a-kind memorial.

Did she spend her winters on the slopes? We can display her ski gear in the chapel and transform the Heritage Room Reception Centre into a winter wonderland. In keeping with the theme, we could serve hot chocolate and a hearty stew. Was he an avid sailor? We’ll decorate with nautical ropes and anchors and showcase his captain’s cap. We’ve had horses trailered in, built mini gardens, set up a bread-making station and draped chapel chairs in handmade quilts. You provide the spark of inspiration and we take it from there.

Green Acres Cemetery

Established in 1957 by Gordon Patterson, Green Acres Cemetery is a beautiful final resting spot for remembering and honouring loved ones.

Burial options for every family

As you wander our well-maintained grounds, you'll find a wide variety of burial options to suit your needs. Lawn sites for traditional casket or cremation burials are the most popular burial choices at the cemetery. Though most of the cemetery is designed for ground-level memorial markers, an upright memorial section allows families to memorialize their loved ones in a more traditional way. For those who want options other than cemetery burial, Green Acres offers a cremation garden and several columbaria in our loveliest gardens, with an open-air mausoleum in the Garden of the Four Apostles.

Holy Angel Mausoleum

Built in 1996, the 2-story Holy Angel Mausoleum is a focal point of the cemetery and a place of peaceful reflection. Its beautiful, marble-front indoor crypts are available for above-ground entombment. There are lovely glass- and marble-front columbaria for those who prefer cremation.

The dignified and serene building welcomes those who wish to pray, meditate or remember their loved ones. It is handicap accessible, with a large elevator to take visitors to the second floor. Plenty of seating, air conditioning and a convenient washroom keep visitors comfortable. A security system monitors the building. Visiting hours are 8:30 am-9 pm, 7 days a week.
